Abstract
Libraries are facing many issues today, from reduced operating budgets to the rising costs of scholarly materials, both in print or electronically. Another financial burden impacting libraries is complying with Copyright laws. This paper will examine how open access materials can impact positively on library budgets and how open access trends can improve copyright compliance through educating users, administration and the library profession itself on non-traditional publishing methods now available to the research community.
